In Modern Dance, we will begin class with a vigorous warm-up for the entire body, including exercises from Ballet and Contemporary dance. Class will continue with short dance phrases, specific skills practice, and traveling steps that will engage the core, improve coordination, balance, strength, and mobility, and prepare the student for pieces of choreography at the end of class. We may explore movements such as crawling, spinning, rolling, and speedy transitions getting up and down from the floor. Some prior dance experience is recommended, but all eager and able-bodied individuals are welcome!
